Nearly six months after a Plum Park, Sophia resident was fatally shot, a man who is currently serving time in prison on an attempted murder charge was on Monday charged with that murder.
Twenty-two-year-old Hoesela Harris appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where he was not required to plead to the indictable charge. The charge alleges that on December 21, 2025, at Plum Park, Sophia, Georgetown, he murdered Xavier Fraser.
Harris was remanded to prison and is scheduled to make his next court appearance on July 15, 2026, for statements.
According to reports, the murder occurred at about 22:36 hrs on December 21, 2025, at Mercy Wing, Plum Park, Sophia. The incident claimed the life of 27-year-old Xavier Fraser, a taxi driver from the community and a father of two.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Fraser was at the location when he sustained multiple gunshot injuries.
He was subsequently transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty.
