The Ministry of Public Health confirmed that a 34-year-old East Bank Demerara male is Guyana’s 21 COVID-19 death. Doodkumar Sookraj passed on July 30.

On July 24, last, Guyana recorded its 20th COVID-19 related death and its 19th COVID-19 death on July 15. A 36-year-old male from the North West District in Region One died at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) from COVID-19 related complications.

He was in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
As of August 1, there are 430 known COVID-19 cases in the country of which 225 are in institutional isolation and 185 have recovered.
